This dazzling display of lights, festivities, and community spirit is nestled in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, creating a picture-perfect backdrop for unforgettable memories.
Downtown Light Nights
From November 29 through December 22, you will be able to roam some of the most scenic streets of Downtown Ellijay and cast your vote on the best light displays in town! Pick up a map at the Downtown Welcome Center, see the lights, and vote for your favorite display. Awards will be given for the Best Commercial Display, Best Residential Display, Best Window Display, and Best Overall Display.
Ellijay Christmas Market
Celebrate the season with family and friends at Downtown Ellijay’s holiday market! Join us on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Gilmer County Courthouse Parking Lot for a free-entry event filled with local charm and holiday cheer.

Host Asa Jones welcomes Ellijay Bacon Fest organizers Abby Prieto and Irene Witt. Ellijay Bacon Fest was created gather the community for the love of bacon and local restaurateurs while helping raise awareness and money for local charities and organizations. In 2023 the festival raised over $10,000 for local charities and collected 1,447 pounds of canned goods.
Get ready to hog-wild at the third annual festival on Sunday, September 29, at Gilmer River Park in Ellijay.
